GEARED UP FOR MY NEW LIFE

We all want to look and feel our best when it comes to looking happening on our first day in college. Talking to HT CITY Akriti Tandon a fresher of IT College shared her views and preparations for her first day in college.

According to Akriti, first impression is the last impression. So I have done a whole lot of shopping, bought a whole new range of stylish and funky bags. I even have changed my hair cut also.

It’s a whole new world after school, so I am really excited. No more of wearing uniforms, no more of making plaids. I can now dress up the way I want.

The other reason for updating my wardrobe is that I should look best in between the other girls. For this I have checked a whole range of magazines. I have bought everything from nail polishes to studs, shoes to capris, hot pants to halters and many more.

I also purchased three pairs of goggles that would make me stylish and also would protect my eyes. After leaving the school, now I have become more brand savvy.

Asking about her fashion Mantra Akriti says, “It is something in which you are comfortable and also which is in and could make you visible”.

FASHION IS EVER-CHANGING

I feel fashion is an ever-changing dynamic scenario. Whatever is in today shouldn’t be repeated again says Deepti Mehrotra a student of Awadh Girls Collegiate while sharing her wardrobe with HT City.

As per Armani’s funda (famous designer), I would not wear more than three colors at a time.

While talking about her shopping for her smashing appearance in college, she says I’ve brought a huge range of Kurtis and leggings from Biba.Around 3-4 denims in blacks and blues, some capris, hot pants and some cool and funky t-shirts.

Talking about her cosmetics she says I am not that much make-up savvy I just got a gloss, a kajal and a sunscreen. I also got sunglasses from Old Navy which cost me a huge amount of money.

Talking about brands I have bought some T-shirts from Edhardy too. I’ve got more than 10 white tops especially for the rains and the monsoon.

For accessories I have bought very funky necklaces-specially the one with chilies made on it, some colorful bags and more than 50 nail paints with every possible color. Adding to it I also got some bracelets, kadas, studs, earrings, danglers and yes three new foot wears.

So I am all set to compose myself stunning and happening.

WANTED TO KEEP UP WITH TRENDS

I want to keep up with trends, but at the same time, I want such clothes that shouldn’t unwearable next season says Sakshi Bajpayee a fresher of Awadh Girls Collegiate

For me Fashion is something which we wear, in which you are comfortable and also which suits your persona. And also something which fits a person in sync with the contemporary trend.

I don’t think about "fashion" but think about “style" which is less frightening psychologically and more "wearable".

So I have bought around 6 shirts from shoppers stop. Some really formal and some more jazzy outfits. I don’t put a lot of accessories so I just got some earrings, studs and some tick-tick clips.

I also got a 6000 Rupee saree from RajRatan for my Freshers Party. I generally avoid rains and wearing light colors in this season. So I’ll keep my whites for the days when it doesn’t rain.

I even got a nice new haircut from Lakme. As today was my first day in College, so I took one and a half hour to get ready. Before giving the final touch to my dress. I tried atleast 3-4 dresses and then finally I decided the one I am wearing now.

I got a few colorful eyeliners, some gloss and some cool eye appealing nail paints. So I am all set to get noticed in College.

FASHION FADES, STYLE IS ETERNAL

I feel fashion is something, which defines your personality. And more importantly it should give you comfort says,”Fazal Rasul a student of Amity University.

In my view fashion fades away soon, but style is something, which is eternal. I think life is too short, so I try to live it to the fullest. I change my entire look every three months including my hairstyle, wardrobe etc.

Talking about his shopping Fazal says I got 7-8 new T-shirts from Globus, Edhardy and Benetton. Along with it 2 new denims from Spykar and Levis. Some new bracelets , 4-5 new studs, new watch from Reebok and yes a lot more of shopping is even left.

As I feel my eyes are too appealing I got very stylish goggles from Shoppers Stop. My new haircut from Habibs, which is adding a bit more to my persona.

Most importantly my New Suzuki Bike, which I personally got designed from Dileep Chabaria. My new adidas shoes are also a part of my shopping. I believe I set my own trends; I don’t like to imitate others.

According to me fashion is something, which has a feel good approach. And your personality is not just defined by your clothes and style but by your attitude, your approach to others. That’s what makes you stylish and part of the crowd.

ARTIFICIAL CANNOT REPLACE THE REAL

Elegance is a question of personality, more than one’s clothing says Himanshi Srivastav a student of Awadh Girls Collegiate.

This college has been a prestigious college in the city and I am happy to be a part of it.I believe this college Awadh is a complete package of Fashion and Studies. And Yes after coming here I am learning to be Bindass like the people here(Carefree and tension free)

Before coming to college I didn’t slept the whole night as I was so eager to join college and make friends.

I went for shopping the day before, and brought so many dresses like Capris, tops, skirts, halters and hot pants.

But yes I am a big maniac about nail paints in all jazzy and funky colors. As I don’t do a lot of make-up so I just got a gloss, kajal and a deodorant which can suffice my necessity.

I also got a new saree for my fresher party. I got a little bit of earrings for myself and not a whole bunch of accessories because I think that artificial can not replace the real one.

Asking about her fashion Mantra, Himanshi says, “The only rule is don’t be boring and dress cute wherever you go. Life is too short to blend in.”

So I am to totally geared up to make my day awesome in college.

I WILL GET RAPCHIK NOW

I've always thought of the T-shirt and Jeans as the Alpha and Omega of the fashion alphabet. But now the meaning is totally changed for me says Vishesh Khanna a fresher of Amity University while sharing his wardrobe with HT CITY.

But only being fashionable is not the key to look stylish. You need to be sensible enough while dressing up for the same.

As boys have limited stuff in fashion, I got 6 pair of denims-4 from Mufti and the other 2 from Levis. Pepping them up with 11 new T-shirts from Levis and Globus, some boxers, short cargo pants and a pair of rugged jeans. As it is the fashion now-a-days to wear this kind of stuff.

I also got a new haircut from Varanasi my native place before coming here. And yes I bought a whole new range of footwears that is 4 Canvas, 2 Sports shoes-1 Nike and 1 Reebok.

I also bought a new watch from Reebok to match up with the style. And most importantly I got a new cell phone. Talking about what he bought for accessories Vishesh says, not really much but a little but of studs and bracelets I have bought would suffice my needs.

This much style is really necessary here because the students here are totally Rapchik (Awesome and Stylish looking) so I will have to match up with them accordingly.

STYLE IS DESIRABLE

If you are not in fashion, you are nobody says Noopur Tiwari a fresher of I.T.College.

But that’s not enough, comfort is also necessary. And most importantly you should be confident enough on whatever you wear at the end of the day.

For me being stylish is wearing trendy and latest clothes, and every other thing which is in fashion.

For that I have brought 2 new denims from Levis, 2 formal shirts from Pantaloons and another shirt from Madame which is my favorite store in terms of fashion.

I also brought a new change in my look by getting a new hairstyle done from the outlet in Clarks Awadh.

As I concentrate too much on being fashionable I bought a whole new range of accessories like 2 new kadas, 4 bracelets, some long silver colored chains, earrings and studs. And yes how can I forget my new toe ring, which is really in now-a-days.

And how can I forget my cosmetics. I got some new eye shadows, new eyeliners in different colors, some cool lip gloss, mascara, kajal and a pair of new goggles. Some really dark gothic color nail paints which are all really jazzy and in.

For footwears I bought a really funky chunky set of shoes and a pair of flippers. And a lot of shopping is even left, which I will be doing soon. All this I do because I really believe that style is the only real luxury that is really desirable.

FASHION IS BOUGHT, BUT STYLE IS POSSESSED

Fashion can be bought but style is possessed by the person says Zaid Binshahab a fresher of Amity University.

Fashion is not only your dressing sense but your body language, behavior and your positive attitude as well. And also about making yourself presentable, adorable and also makes me feel proud when 10 people turn around and look at me.

For looking trendy and funky your personality should be appealing as well. I have got a whole new range of things to make myself look hip and happening in college.

I have got 6 new shirts from Mufti, 3 Jeans which are 2 blue and 1 black. And yes very stylish pair of shoes from woodland.

Also a new fastrack watch, with 2 new belts from pantaloons. I also rejoined my gym to bring back my muscles In shape and to impress the other girls In the campus.

For my accessories I have got around 5 new bracelets, some rings, studs and some really funky lockets.

I believe to attract others you should always smell good. So I have bought around a bunch of deodorants from Axe with a different variety of fragrances to appeal everyone.

HAPPINESS IS THE SECRET OF MY BEAUTY

When people you don’t even know ,hate you ,then you must know that you are the best says Divya Suri a student of Modern Girls College of Professional Studies while sharing her wardrobe with HT City.

For Being and looking good one needs to be happy from inside. Because I believe that happiness is the secret to beauty and there is no beauty that is attractive without happiness.

I try to follow everything which is latest in fashion and something which makes me look cool.

While asking about her preparations for her first day in college Divya says I have bought two capris from Shoppers Stop, four really funky tops from Pantaloons and another top which you can see I am wearing now.

I also got two new footwears, one stilettos and one flat sandal. For accessories I got some new studs, and some chunky bracelets.

I also got my makeover done like a new haircut and face cleaning etc to make an impression for myself.

I also bought some cosmetics mascara, eye shadow, lip gloss, nail paints all in light colors like pink, peach and all the other soothing shades.

She further adds that she is crazy about nail art. She always makes wonderful and funky designs on her nails. For that she even had bought a new nail art kit from Archies which would make her more sexy and appealing.

Because I feel Style is knowing who you are, what to say, and always giving your best at the end.

FASHION IS BEING YOURSELF

Fashion is what one wears oneself. What is unfashionable is what other people wear accordingly says Harshit a Fresher of Lucknow University while sharing his wardrobe with HT CITY.

I believe a person looks stylish when his dressing is suiting his persona. I don’t say that I don’t observe others. Yes I do experiments, but carry the one which makes me feel the best.

I have done a whole lot of shopping for myself as I have to look good whenever I enter the campus.

I have got new shoes from Puma and jazzy slippers too from puma, a pair of flat shoes from Woodland, new sneakers,

Along with it three Levis Jeans which are two in slim fit and one narrow shaped. Some new t-shirts like the one which are in fashion in dark bright colors. And will soon buy some slim fit shirts from Levis to impress the hot chicks in the college.

I also got my new hairstyle done from Bhargava’s. I even change my hairstyle every two months and give them looks like spikes, pyramid cut etc

I also got a new funky cap as it is too hot now-a-days. New glares from Ray Ban-Aviator Range. Some new colorful belts, new shack bands etc.I also got my ear pierced as this is the common fashion which guys follow now-a-days.

But basically I am a shoe freako,I like to buy flat sole shoes a lot more than anything and basically from one brand that is Puma

And if you talk to me fashion is not just dressing up it also has to do with the ideas, the way we live in and what is happening around you.

KI FARAK PAINDA HAI

I believe the sooner any fashion becomes universal, it goes outdated , so I follow everything which is current and avoid imitating others says Sankalp Mehra a student of Amity University New Campus.

It is something in which we are comfortable and confident. As you can see our college has already opened so have done all my shopping earlier.

I have bought 2 new Jeans from Levis both are slim fit.2 shirts one from Spykar and the other one from Mufti.

I do a lot more changes on my hairs. As you can see right now my hairs are the most attractive part of me. I got my hair base color changed to brown and got it highlighted to golden. Which is really appealing! And I can make different hairstyles very easily.

I also got some very nice bracelets from Archies, a watch from Reebok, a sunglass from Ray ban-Aviator range which is most stylish these days. I also got a new pair of shoe from Lee Cooper.

My simple motto of life is to listen to myself and not what others say to me and if they really interfere I just say to myself KFP-Ki Farak Painda Hai –(it doesn’t matter) and to them I say TLJ-Tel Lene Ja (Go to hell ).

GO BABE-O-LICIOUS

Fashion is anything in which you feel comfortable, you feel like a diva and when you have that special something in you which you can flaunt says Divya Khanna a fresher of Babu Banarasi Das Group of Educational Institutions (B.B.D.)

And in this summer to beat the heat I am trying some very chunky clothes and accessories.

According to me, being stylish is all about inventing, something new in yourself, randomizing with clothes, getting new make-overs and click-ups.And after all if you have it, you flaunt it.

For my step in my college I have got some nice soothing colorful nail paints with some nail art that looks quite catchy.

I have got a range of checked three-fourths and capris, and amazing color tee’s. This summer shades are really in. So I got two, one from Gucci and another one from Green Rims from Ray ban.

As I am heading out to my college life, I cracked to a studio and got a permanent tattoo on my right arm which reveals three radiant flying stars which depicts success.

I have got around 15 deodorants from UCB,calvin Klein and Spykar etc.I have also bought a variety of lip glosses from Maybelline Streetwear. And a wide range of other cosmetics like different colored eyeliners, eye lash lifters and Kajal also got a needful range of bags from Westside.

To make my look more appealing I have added on Gladiators, Stilettos and nice cool Chappals from Mochi and Metro.

For accessories I have got various shaped bangles, anklets, belts and studs from Archies even got my new hair makeover done from Habib’s Saloon which made me look a lil bit like my favo-Hannah Montana.

Its all about being yourself and choosing the right do’s and don’ts and a very must stuff your attitude and your lingo should be according to your dress up which adds on to your grooming.

Be stylish, Be Bold, Be Attractive-In short be ‘DIVYA KHANNA’.

STYLE IS THE MATTER OF INSTINCT

Being fashionable gives the reflection of your attitude and personality. It is also which makes you look beautiful, comfortable, and stylish and at the same time makes you feel good says Aditi Dubey a student of Amity University.

My statement of fashion is totally different from the others. I feel wearing jeans is a blunder when you quote it as something fashionable and funky. Because neither it is comfortable and in a environment like of a professional college, it looks odd when you wear such skin fit clothes. I never wear jeans.

I basically like formal shirts which I have brought from pantaloons and bought some Kurtis and Chooridars from Biba.

I don’t put a whole lot of make up so I just got a gloss, kajal and a sunscreen. I also got a new glare shade from Provogue.

For footwears I usually like flat, like the one I am wearing now and another pair of shoes from Puma.

For accessories I didn’t bought a whole range of things but got some simple metallic bracelets which will do the needful. But, yes I m crazy about watches. I like wearing different watches everyday. My favorite is Tommy & Hilfiger in Fastrack and I will wear one each day.

I also got a new converse bag when I went for holidays in Malaysia got a new look with my hairstyle and also got my hair streaked from lakme.

Style is primarily a matter of instinct. I recently got my nose pierced and now I am planning to have a nice tattoo on my arm which I haven’t explored yet.

I PREFER TO BE ELEGANT

The most important thing to remember is that you can wear all the greatest clothes and all the greatest shoes, but you’ve got to have a good spirit on the inside. That’s what’s really going to make you look like you’re ready to rock the world says Anshuman a fresher of Amity University while sharing his wardrobe secret with HT City.

Because I feel style lies within a person and not within his outer appearance. I always prefer to be sober and elegant.

I bought a whole lot of stuff for my new college life. But everything I purchased is labeled with a brand because it makes you feel nice and is really long lasting and at the end the end of the day it looks really BHAUKALI (Impressive)

I have bought around 3-4 shirts from Tommy Hilfiger & John Player and 6 new denims from Levis and Allen Cooper. And 12 new tees.

I don’t wear accessories much so my watches 7 new watches from brands like Titan, Timex and Sonata will suffice that need.

I also got 4 new footwears like new soccer shoes from Reebok, a leather shoe from Red Chief and a pair of chappals from Puma.

I also brought new glasses from Versace to protect my eyes from the harsh sun.

But he further adds smartness doesn’t depends on one’s looks it is more depended on how you carry yourself in something excellent or something just ok.Its you who will make any difference.

ASHION COMES AFTER STYLE

Style is an expression of individualism mixed with charisma. Fashion is something that comes after style says Kajol Mathur a student of Amity University while sharing her wardrobe secret with HT City.

I also think any attire can be made fashionable if you wear it with confidence. Style is the attitude you put forward.

I recently went to Delhi so I did all my shopping from there only to impress others on my first day in college. As it is really hot in these days I bought some new sexy hot pants, 4 new Kurtis and 5 new tops and 3 new jeans.

For accessories I got a whole lot of stuff like Studs,Bangles,Chains ,Kadas,2 new watches one from Tommy & Hilfiger and the another one from Rado.

I also got around 10 new very funky nail paints in colors like green, blue, yellow orange, red and a few others, a kajal,in varied color eyeliners because I love to highlight my eyes the most.

I also got a new sunglass from Rayban. And got a new haircut from habibs and now I am planning to get my hairs get streaked in red or some weird color.

I am a fun person and I love to shop I didn’t do much of shopping yet. Planning to do it again soon.

I NEVER GO FOR AN OPINION

I never go for an opinion; I just wear whatever happens to be in style says Pranav Sharma a student of Amity University while sharing his Style Mantra with HT City.

Fashion is what you carry on yourself, something which makes you look cool. I don’t really go for brands I just buy whatever I like whether it is a brand or not.

I have done a lot of shopping so that I look best among all the Freshers got 3 new shirts from FabIndia, 4 new jeans from Levis and some trousers too.

I also purchased 2 new shoes, 1 is a sport shoe from Reebok and another one is a casual shoe from Bata. I even got a new pair of goggles from Ray Ban. And also a new stylish belt.

And yes most importantly I am going to but a new phone. I use to go for Axe deodorants earlier but this I have brought a range of deo’s from Park Avenue. I thought a little change would do a lot more.

I don’t like to wear accessories as such. I think these things are needless to buy. I love to be in Fashion but Ainve Hi Nahi (Not just as) whatever I wear I wear it has to be that good, which should match my style.

I believe a person looks stylish when he/she knows that what suits him/her.

TENSION NAHI LENE KA

If you like to be relaxed you will never get the look, because fashion is mostly uncomfortable says Mohd.Amir a student of Lucknow University while sharing his Fashion Mantra with HT City.

According to me fashion is the key to success. Because I want to be a professional model, so the more I will be fashionable the more will be my success in the field of modeling.

So I try to look my best always. And in the campus like Lucknow University, out of hundreds one has to look that good.

So I have got a lot of stuff to look good and fashionable. I have got 3 new t-shirts from Provogue and 2 new Jeans from Levis also some new trousers and 2 formal shirts from Louis Philippe.

I also got a new bag for myself. I also got a new Canvas D&G shoes so that I can walk in style. I even got a new haircut and give different styles to my look everyday.

I also got some new accessories like a 3 new bracelets, a new watch from Reebok and some new studs, for that I got my ears pierced because its really in fashion now-a-days.

A pair of goggles from Gucci that protect my eyes from the sunlight. And most importantly I have got a new very stylish bike for myself. .

But whatever I do, I do it with full confidence-Tension Kaahe ko Lene Ka (Why take Tension).

LEARNING ALL NEW STUFF

Fashion is general, style is individual. I do not follow trends but I start them says, Praveen Shukla a student of Lucknow University while sharing his wardrobe secret with HT City.

Being stylish means looking funky, dressed on your best clothes and carrying the best accessories. For this I have done a lot of shopping.

I have got 2 new denims, 2 shirts and a very funky set of t-shirt from Koutons.Besides this I have also bought a new pair of sports shoe from Canvas. And a new bag from Reebok.

I also got a new haircut from Beauty Point Saloon. I also bought a hair gel and hair lotion from Denim because I just love to care about my hairs and 2 new deodorants from Axe too are adding to the list.

For accessories I got 2 new bracekets, some studs, a watch from Fasttrack, a new belt from Levis .And yes how can I forget my new Samsung Corby Pro phone, which is the best thing I have shopped for yet.

After coming here I have learned a lot of new lingo’s like the Allahabadi language used by my seniors like Khaabo Ki Na, Bolbo Ki Nahi.

According to me if a person has to look smart, so he/she should wear such clothes and accessories which should compliment him/her.

ONE MUST BE DIFFERENT

In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different says Kashif Khan a student of Shia P.G.College while sharing his wardrobe secret with HT City.

Fashion for me is everything, the way you dress, your attitude the way you speak and interact everything speaks about your fashion statement.

So I got a lot of stuff for myself. Like 3 new jeans from Punk all are narrow fit and 3 shirts from Mufti.

I am a glare-freak. I have bought around 6 new sunglasses from Replay. For footwears I have got a new Canvas from Levis, a flat sole shoe and Harley for parties.

Besides this I have got 14 new deodorants from Axe which approximately includes all the varieties and ranges.

I have got a new crew cut hairstyle from Looks which are adding a bit more to my persona.

I have even brought around 6-7 pair of studs.Coz I love to wear it in my ears, for which I got them pierced.

As I am a professional model too so I don’t think I have to inculcate any style in me. It is natural in me. Whatever I wear it itself becomes a style statement.

I would like to define myself as-Awadh Ki Shaan, Lucknow Ki Jaan, Main Hoon Kashif Khan.
